A member of one of my online groups asked this question the other day:
"We've got a LinkedIn page for the company, but we don't have many followers - any quick tips for getting more eyes on our profile?"
I hear this same question all the time! I thought I'd share my response here with you in case any of you are struggling with the same issue.

Most of us use social media in one way or another, but many still have not realized just how social media can help a business. A good social media presence can help your business in a number of ways.
Social media includes more than just Facebook. It includes sites like Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, Tumblr and the list goes on. You should choose the social networking site(s) that best reflect the demographics of your audience. For example, just because everyone is heading over to Instagram doesn’t mean you have to. If Instagram is where your demographics are, then by all means do so, but if LinkedIn is where your demographics are, forego Instagram and opt for LinkedIn.

Around eighty eight percent of all of today’s brands make use of social media marketing on platforms such as Facebook, Google+ and Twitter. If you do not use sites such as these then your firm may be in danger of being left behind. Remember that you still need to differentiate your organization from all the others out there and build relationships on busy platforms.

According to Hubspot's 2012 State of Inbound Marketing, 77% of B2C companies and 43% of B2B companies have acquired a customer through Facebook. In that same report, 62% of marketers reported that Facebook had become more imporant to their marketing mix during the previous six months.

LinkedIn recently announced that it would be removing the Products & Services tab from all LinkedIn Company Pages effective April 14, 2014.

Facebook recently announced a new design for ads in the coming months. This updated look will make right-hand column ads more visually consistent with the ads that appear in the News Feed. The ads will use the same proportions as desktop News Feed ads, they will be larger in size, and there will be fewer of them.
